Gathering of Information

Information We Collect

EESW/STEMCymru does not collect personally identifying information about any individual EESW Web site user except when knowingly provided by such individual. In operating our website we may collect and process the following data about you:

i. Details of your visits to our website and the resources that you access, including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data.

ii. Information that you provide by filling forms on our website, such as when you registered for participation in any of our strands.

iii. Information provided to us when you communicate with us for any reason.

You always have the option not to provide the information we request. If you choose not to provide the information we request, you can still visit most of the EESW/STEM Cymru website, but you may be unable to access certain options and services.

Children under 13: Please do not send any personally identifying information to us, including name, address or email address. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the event that we learn we have collected any personal information from a child under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information from our database as quickly as possible.

Cookies

A cookie is a data file that certain websites write to your computer’s hard drive when you visit such sites. A cookie file can contain information, such as a user identification code, that the site uses to track the pages you have visited. EESW/STEM Cymru uses cookies solely to track user traffic patterns throughout the EESW/STEM Cymru website. We use this data on an anonymous basis and we do not correlate this information with personal data of any user.

However, if you choose to disable the receipt of cookies from our website, you may not be able to use certain features of the site.

Use of Your Information

The information that we collect and store relating to you is primarily used to enable us to provide our services to you.

We have recently been granted funding from the European Social Fund through the Welsh Assembly Government for STEM Cymru. It is a requirement of the European Commission that the Welsh European Funding Office (WEFO) collect equal opportunities data on those benefiting from the Structural Funds Programmes in Wales. This data will only be used for statistical purposes to monitor the performance of the scheme.

In order to participate with us we request contact details (for example name, email address) and personal information (for example date of birth, gender, and ethnicity). In addition, we may use the information for the following purposes:

i. To provide information about further strands we offer that may be of interest to you.

ii. To contact you for any feedback or comments about your experience in participating in any of our strands, or for statistical monitoring purposes.

iii. To provide statistics of equal opportunities to WEFO and our partner Careers Wales for monitoring participation with us.

When you are visiting an area of the EESW/STEM Cymru website and are asked for personal information, you are sharing that information with EESW/STEM Cymru as well as business partners and vendors providing hosting and other services for us. If you do not want your information to be shared, you can choose not to allow the transfer of your information by not using that particular service. These parties, as well as advertisers who contract directly with a third-party service to serve their advertisements, may set their own cookies.

Photographs

EESW/STEM Cymru may make use of your photograph from time to time solely to reflect the activities undertaken throughout the schemes. If you choose not to allow us to use your photograph on any promotional publications or the EESW/STEM Cymru website please do not hesitate to contact us. We will not use any personally identifying information (i.e. name, date of birth, email etc.) alongside any photographs.

E-Mail

EESW/STEM Cymru respects the privacy of its users and shall not disclose, distribute or rent its email subscriber newsletter list to any third party, nor shall it permit anyone else to do so.
