Launch of the 2025–26 EESW Sixth Form Project

It has been fantastic to welcome all the students, guest companies, and organisations from across Wales over the past few weeks as we officially kicked off the EESW Sixth Form Project for the 2025–26 season.

A series of lively launch events took place across the country, giving participating students the chance to meet their partner companies and learn more about the exciting projects they will be working on throughout the year. Events were held at Ysgol Bryn Elian and Bangor University in North Wales; Aberystwyth University in Mid Wales; and across South Wales at the University of South Wales, University of Wales Trinity Saint David, Swansea University, St Fagans National Museum of History, Big Pit National Coal Museum, Rougemont School, and several other venues.

Each event provided an invaluable opportunity for students to meet company representatives, discuss real engineering challenges, and begin planning their projects. The enthusiasm and curiosity shown by all the young participants were truly inspiring.

We are extremely grateful to the many companies, organisations, and universities partnering with EESW this year. Their continued support and engagement enable students to gain hands-on experience of STEM in the real world, encouraging creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills that will serve them well in their future studies and careers.

Though the EESW team will continue to support students and partner companies as they develop their ideas over the coming months, we’ll also be working hard behind the scenes to prepare for the end-of-project celebration and presentation events, where teams will showcase their achievements and innovative solutions.

It is always inspiring to see so many young people embracing the challenges ahead, and we look forward to seeing their projects come to life!
