Sustainable Farming for Primary Schools

The Sustainable Farming project invites pupils to work together to grow food in a digital greenhouse that they have constructed and coded. With a sustainability focus PS3 pupils are introduced to the urban farming movement which brings crops into our towns and cities, repurposing underutilised urban spaces, reducing food miles and connecting people to the food they eat within their communities.

There are a limited number of places available for primary schools.

This project is funded by the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Sustainable Farming for Secondary Schools

The Sustainable Farming project invites pupils to work together to grow food in a digital greenhouse that they have constructed and coded.

At PS4 the project is rooted in understanding the impact of traditional food production models and climate change on biodiversity and explores urban farming and controlled environment farming as alternatives with advantages for food security and sustainability more broadly.

This project is funded by the Spectris Foundation.

First Lego League

EESW delivers three regional First Lego League challenges each year in North, South East and South West Wales, on behalf of the IET.

The activity is open to both primary and secondary schools, and there are three different age categories.

This project is part-funded by the IET and the Spectris Foundation.

Wind Turbine Workshops

EESW is pleased to offer our Wind Turbine Workshop for up to 30 pupils per session to eligible primary and secondary schools located within the Rhondda, Cynon, Neath and Afan areas.

This project is funded by the Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund.

If your school is eligible and you would be interested in booking a workshop to be delivered at your school from January 2024, please contact us to book.
