Our wind turbine activity allows pupils to learn how a wind turbine works, how they are engineered and constructed.
Pupils use our kits to build their own wind turbine and measure the energy generated.  By adjusting their design, each team is tasked to create and record the most efficient wind turbine.

How it works

This workshop is suitable for progression steps 3 & 4 and lasts for approximately 2 hours for a class of 30 pupils.

Full day £495 (to accommodate 2 workshops), 2 full days £850, 3 full days £1200.  

Timings and dates can be discussed when booking the experience, half days available on request.

Fully funded workshops are available for secondary schools in Ceredigion, Conwy and Wrexham through our UK SPF project and primary and secondary schools located within the Rhondda, Cynon, Neath and Afan areas funded by the Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund project.
