How it works

Headstart Cymru gives students the opportunity to spend time at an Engineering or Computing Department at University prior to submitting their UCAS application.

Due to funding, we are unable to offer overnight residential events in summer 2025.  However, the following events are taking place this year.

USW Pontypridd, Monday 23rd June 2025, 10am-2pm

We are delighted to invite teachers and students to attend USW’s STEM Conference 2025.

This event is aimed at showing students the exciting opportunities available to them should they choose to study STEM subjects at university. The day will involve interactive taster sessions from across USW’s STEM offering, from Forensic Science to Aerospace Engineering.

The event is suitable for students in year 12 or equivalent studying STEM subjects at level 3.
