Connecting Teachers with Industry - UK Community Renewal Fund
January-December 2022 – Bridgend & Rhondda Cynon Taf
The Connecting Teachers with Industry Project aimed to deliver events to teaching professionals of both primary and secondary schools in Bridgend and Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT).
Events were intended to expose teachers to the excitement and wonders of manufacturing and engineering and make them aware of the range of innovative and rewarding careers available in the Advanced Materials and Manufacturing, Creative and Digital and Energy and Environment sectors in the region.
Events took place at Dragon Film Studios with Screen Alliance Wales, Eriez Magnetics, GE Aviation Wales and Aston Martin. Due to difficulty of teachers attending external events following the pandemic, initial project targets were reduced, and 134 teachers were involved from 40 schools (65 teachers from 20 schools in Bridgend, 69 teachers from 20 schools in RCT).
