If you work in a STEM industry, there are various ways you can get involved with us by volunteering:

EESW Assessors

Each year around 100 teams across Wales take part in the EESW Project and attend the annual Awards & Presentation Day in North or South Wales.

A project will be allocated to an assessor depending on their background and preferences.  Assessors will receive the project report a week prior to the event for review.

At the event, assessors are arranged into panels of three depending on their project type and assessment experience.  They will listen to three presentations throughout the day, including a presentation from the team whose report they were allocated prior to the event.  As a panel, they will score the projects against a set link of assessment criteria.  They will also make nominations for a range of award categories.

Professionals working in any Engineering industry are also invited to attend the annual events as volunteer assessors.  Companies participating in the EESW Project are also welcome to nominate any of their employees to act as assessors.

STEM Ambassador

If you work in the STEM industry and would like to help us out at any of our events we are always looking for volunteers.

STEM Associates

EESW engages university undergraduates and post graduates to assist with our work in Wales.

STEM Associates will be able to assist with EESW Project management, working with allocated schools and teams in your area.  You could also assist at major events held throughout the year or visit schools to speak to and work with pupils and teachers.

The role will require up to a maximum of the equivalent of 8 days per year and STEM Associates will be paid up to £75 per day.

If you are interested in any of the above, please get in touch.

We encourage STEM professionals to get involved with us to help inspire the younger generation.
