The Jaguar Primary Challenge is now known as F1 in Schools Primary Class.

The F1 in Schools Primary Class engages with primary school students and teachers across the UK.
If you had previously taken part in the Jaguar 2D Challenge, you will be familiar with everything the F1 in Schools Primary Class has to offer.

The challenge is open to students aged 9 - 11 years old and involves designing and manufacturing the fastest car possible, emulating the design and engineering processes employed by real engineering companies, such as Jaguar Cars.

The challenge is for a team of 4 pupils to design a race car out of card complete with wheels, body and even a mini driver. They will design their car using software to produce car design ideas and then manufacture them on a plotter cutter before making the car ready to race.

Primary schools are invited to participate via EESW and their local Secondary School hub.

In addition, schools can choose to take part in the EESW Speed Challenge. We can accomodate this as either:

  • A virtual race day
  • An in-school race day
