Girls Visit Airbus!

In March 2011, thirty girls from Ysgol Maes Garmon and Ysgol Glan Clwyd visited Airbus, Broughton as part of EESW’s Girls into Engineering initiative.

Female employees participated in a question and answer session with the young ladies and discussed their careers within Airbus.  The students also toured the Airbus A380 Factory, where wings for the giant aircraft are made and assembled.

Manufacturing shop support engineer Emma Holland said “As I have personally taken part in the EESW scheme, I was able to show the girls that it’s not just a scheme that you take part in during your school life, but something you can take with you into your professional career”
