Congratulations to the EESW 6th Form Project Award Winners 2017-2018 – South Wales

EESW is pleased to announce this year’s 6th Form Project Award Winners.  75 teams took part in the competition this year, and 16 awards were given for various categories. The annual awards events took place at Parc Y Scarlets, Llanelli on Thursday 19th April 2018. Congratulations to this year’s winning teams and nominees:

Year 12 Student from Ysgol Friars wins Dr Tom Parry Jones EESW Student of the Year Award!

Each year, around 600 Year 12 students take part in the Engineering Education Scheme Wales’ Sixth Form Project.  The students work in teams of up to eight on a six-month STEM project, set by a link company. This award is in memory of the late Dr Tom Parry Jones (1935-2013) who was a trustee of EESW for 20 years.  Tom was a great entrepreneur and innovator, who established Lion Laboratories in Cardiff in 1967 and played a major role in […]

EESW Wales Rally GB Competition for Schools Winner Is Announced!

The EESW Wales Rally GB Competition for schools was a joint initiative between the WRGB organisers, Toyota UK and the Engineering Education Scheme Wales (EESW) on behalf of the Welsh Government and was open to all primary schools, secondary schools and colleges in the region.   EESW received over a hundred entries into the competition from primary schools, secondary schools and colleges in Wales and the task of selecting a winner was not an easy one! An all-girl team of budding engineers are representing Wales at the F1 in Schools Challenge World Finals in Malaysia, 2017. The team – Eleanor Edwards-Jones, Beca Jones, Jessica Pritchard, Tesni Smith, Anna Thomas and Elin Worth – are all Year 11 pupils at Ysgol Brynrefail, Gwynedd studying GCSEs in Design & Technology and Science.
