Bloodhound SCC Education Centre

The Bloodhound Challenge is an exciting activity that involves designing and manufacturing CO2 powered model cars using interesting computer aided designing and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) skills. This is an opportunity for KS2 and KS3 pupils to take part at no cost to the schools. The CAD software and training in its use are free and all materials for making the car will also be provided free of charge.
The best teams from schools will be invited to compete at regional finals in south and north Wales. The best teams from these will have the opportunity to compete in a UK final and, for KS4 and sixth form teams, the possibility of representing Wales at an international final. Bloodhound SSC is the name of a major UK engineering project to design and build a pencil-shaped car powered by a jet engine and a rocket. It will reach approximately 1,000 miles per hour (1,609 km/h) which will break the land speed record.
